Pentecost People P entecost

'tis the season to celebrate the moving of the spirit in our lives and in the life of the church.

June 8 - Gospel Pentecost celebration with Evelyn Harris headshot special guest singer Evelyn Harris (yes, the Evelyn who sang with Sweet Honey in the Rock)

June 15 - Choir Appreciation with the bell choir
June 22 - Education Sunday celebrating our teachers and students
June 29 - Tom McGowan preaching
July 6 - Lois Harris preaching, with Jim Harris on his Native American flute

3 Sundays in July - an informal prayer gathering modeled on 1st-century "house-church" adding elements from the Taizé community and the ancient practice of lectio divina (spiritual listening to the biblical text). You may bring a poem or prayer or experience you wish to share. And a mat or pillow if you prefer sitting on the ground (like they do in the Taizé community).

August - Sleep in on Sundays and then join us at 6:30 in the evening for informal, outdoor services on the front lawn with ice cream treats to follow. BYOLC: Bring your own lawn chair.

Adult Studies

Our current exploration of “Science, Religion and an Evolving Faith”, Painting the Stars, concludes on June 8th,  after which we will take a break for the Summer.

Next, we will be offering Covenant Bible Study.  COVENANT is an in-depth group Bible study in which people read and discuss the Bible together, learning how to love God – and each other – better.  Covenant represents a relationship – a living, breathing conversation.

We are forming 2 sessions now for the Fall: an evening class, likely house based, with Evie and Rick, and a Sunday morning class with Tom.  Join us on the journey.  Contact the office to register your interest, and be part of the conversation to shape and schedule the class!

Pastor Kelly Greetings
from Pastor
Kelly Turney

We invite you to join us each Sunday in worship where the inclusive love of the gospel is proclaimed in word, music and ritual. We’re a growing congregation of all ages, with nursery care and Sunday School during worship for the young ones or rocking chairs for nursing mothers right in the sanctuary. Designated a “safe sanctuary”, we are dedicated to providing a safe place for our children. More...
