This Advent we're learning to walk in the dark.

“In the middle of the journey of our life, I came to myself, in a dark wood,
where the direct way was lost.  ...”

Divine Comedy by Dante

Do you know something about darkness?  —  the darkness of a diagnosis,  or months of unemployment,  a broken relationship,  a child's addiction  or an unanswered prayer.  This Advent, we'll explore the gifts of lunar spirituality for making it through the dark wood.  Along the way, we gather authors as necessary companions in the darkness.  Poet David Whyte's poems will call us to worship each week.  We invite you to share your favorite quotation on the possibility and power of darkness on our Facebook page.

“Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
  confinement of your aloneness
  to learn
  anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive
  is too small for you.”

Sweet Darkness from David Whyte

Join us Sunday mornings at 10:00 as we explore walking in the dark.

Adult Studies

In December we take a break from COVENANT for our Advent topic:

Book Discussion - Learning to Walk in the Dark by Barbara Brown Taylor
Sunday mornings at 8:35, Dec 7, 14, 21 in the parlor or
Wednesday night Dec 17th at 6:45 at the parsonage

In January we will resume Covenant Bible StudyCOVENANT is an in-depth group Bible study in which people read and discuss the Bible together, learning how to love God – and each other – better.  Covenant represents a relationship – a living, breathing conversation.

Two sessions are being held: a Sunday morning class with Tom; and a house-based evening class with Evie and Rick.  Join us on the journey.  Contact the office to register your interest, and be part of the conversation!

We invite you to join us each Sunday in worship where the inclusive love of the gospel is proclaimed in word, music and ritual. We’re a growing congregation of all ages, with nursery care and Sunday School during worship for the young ones or rocking chairs for nursing mothers right in the sanctuary. Designated a “safe sanctuary”, we are dedicated to providing a safe place for our children. More...
